Welcome to Senior Design Project 2020 (SDP20)
Course Overview: The Senior Design Project provides a capstone experience for undergraduate students in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Students work in teams of 3-4 students in this year long course sequence to design and prototype a system of their choice. Past projects have included a variety of topics ranging from home automation systems to ultra wide band wireless links, assistive robots, and wireless drumsticks. Each team is advised by a faculty member in the department and projects undergo several formal reviews. The learning goals for the senior design project include technical design, team work, presentation skills, an understanding of realistic constraints, economics, and ethics.
News: (updated 25th March'20)
SDP20 Teams: Since students are not allowed back in SDP lab, then the hands-on, prototyping-fabricating-productizing part of SDP20 is finished. Disappointing, but it is so. Demo days are obviously cancelled. In addition to completed CDRs, we will have the following graded components for ECE 416:
1) Final Project Reflection report (one per student): This is a new, individual writing component that replaces the traditional FPR. Due date TBD.
2) Project poster (one per team). Due date, no later than Friday, 23rd April’20.
3) Final report (one per team). Due date, no later than Monday 11th May’20.
Instructions and templates for each of these components will be forthcoming.
