We are developing a series of tools to assist in the development and verification of embedded systems. The following project serves as a first step in the development of this tool set.
PCI Simulation using ScriptSim
The Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) has become one of the most widely used bus architectures in modern computers. Most of today’s PCI simulation software is designed for compliance and verification rather than accurately modeling a PCI bus system. In addition, PCI simulators can be complex to setup and offer a limited graphical user interface. Our research provides a unique approach to PCI simulation using ScriptSim, an open source PCI simulation tool. Using the flexibility provided by ScriptSim, we add functionality to accurately model real-life bus systems. A web-based GUI is integrated into ScriptSim which allows a user to quickly model, run, and analyze PCI and PCI-X simulations.
