We built an "Internet of Things" platform that is connected to your car's OBD-II port and interfaces with an array of external sensors (i.e. gas, GPS, thermal, motion, camera, etc.). The main hub is located under your dashboard, while a wireless BLE extension sits by your rearview mirror. Bluetooth connectivity between the main hub and extension transfers critical sensor data. This data is transmitted to the Cloud via 3G, where it is then tested by IFTTT for triggers or sent to a Java/Python Google Cloud server for large data processing (i.e. image). If a conditional is true, the application will run, and users may receive a text message or e-mail, among other things.
