Our group is designing a stand-alone 3D scanner system, using Freelss open source software. Current 3D scanners are on the more expensive side, and tend to need some other device, whether it be a phone, tablet, or computer to operate. Our scanner will is designed to be under $250. It has a built in screen, which will allow users to operate our scanner without the need of an external device. These scans will produce an STL file of the scanned object, which can be sent to a 3D printer!
