Fall 2008 Schedule

I am a Doctoral student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of University of Massachusetts under the advisory of Prof. Sandip Kundu . My present research focuses on the broad field of VLSI Testing with special interest on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and fault modeling and test pattern generation for power supply switching noise related problems.

Formerly I pursued MS in Computer Science at Colorado State University. I worked with Prof. Sanjay V. Rajopadhye in the field of VLSI Systolic Architectures. My Masters thesis was on A VLSI Systolic Architecture for Neural Networks Trained by Error Backpropagation.

My past affiliation was also with Advanced Computing & Microelectronics Unit of Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta, as a Research Assistant of Prof. Bhargab B. Bhattacharya.

Earlier, I did my B. Tech thesis on "A Reconfigurable Co-processor for Redundant Radix-4 Arithmetic" under the advisory of Prof. Susmita Sur-Kolay of the same institute.

Teaching:

Fall 2007: Data Structures and Algorithms in Java (ECE242)

Current Research Activities:

          1. Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
          2. Test Generation for Accelerating Soft Error Rate (SER) Estimation
          3. Test Generation for Estimating Worst-case Power Supply Currents

Research Interests :

          1. VLSI Testing & Fault Tolerance
          2. Power Optimization of VLSI Circuits
          3. Logic level VLSI Synthesis
          4. Formal Hardware Verification
          5. Systematic Synthesis of VLSI Systolic Architectures

Curriculum Vitae :
  Vita (PDF format)

Other Interests : Though a student of Applied Sciences, my personal interest includes writing poems and short stories in my mothertongue - Bengali and listening to Indian and Western Classical music. Infact, my hobby relates to the collection of rare and invaluable compositions of several eminent musicians of my country and abroad.
