Training and Short Courses
The VIP offers a number of short courses on videotape which are designed primarily for employee development. Professional Development and Technical Topics courses are typically 5-15 hours in length and carry no academic credit. Subjects ranging from Product Safety & Design Liability to C Programming address the need for topical, on-site education. Additional programs are produced throughout the academic year. With faculty approval, the VIP's semester-length courses are also available for rental or purchase. Companies may rent or purchase a complete course (tapes and all written materials including notes, exercises and solutions) for on-site employee training. Individuals who take courses which are rented or purchased are considered noncredit students - no academic credit is earned. Faculty interaction is not guaranteed with rentals or purchases. For a complete listing of all semester-length courses available, please contact the VIP. The rental period for semester-length courses is 12-14 weeks, a typical semester's length. If a semester-length or short course is purchased, it becomes the property of the facility. Rental fees may be applied to purchase cost. Rentals and purchases may not be shipped or transmitted electronically to other facilities within the corporation or organization without the specific permission of the VIP and the faculty. All VIP Training & Short Courses are available to international companies for purchase only.
