Transportation Climate Change Symposium May 2008
The University of Massachusetts and H3B Media are co-sponsoring a Climate Change Think Tank Symposium. Interested participants from your organization are cordially invited to attend this Symposium, which is being held on May 29-30, 2008 at the Mullins Center, UMass, Amherst. The theme for this event is Transportation’s Impacts and Solutions on Climate Change. We are pleased to feature Congressman John Olver of Massachusetts’s First Congressional District and Chairman of the House Appropriations Sub-committee on Transportation as keynote speaker.
This event is bringing together people from the public and private sectors whose decisions have far reaching ramifications in the transportation field. Transportation is responsible for a significant percentage of greenhouse gasses, which critically affects Climate Change, more commonly known as Global Warming.
Presenters include, among others: John Collura, PhD, P.E., UMass; Luisa Paiewonsky, Commissioner, Massachusetts Highway Department; David Ahlfeld, PhD, UMass; Rob DeConto, PhD, P.E., UMass; Michael Replogle, Environmental Defense Fund; Peter Plumeau, Resource Systems Group; David Schonbrunn, TRANSDEF; Joyce Wegner; Booz Allen Hamilton; Tim O’Leary, Quixote Corporation; Dr. Richard Palmer, PhD, P.E., UMass; and Lee Armstrong, Armstrong Consulting.
The Symposium also features these presenters and other well known professionals and academians in the transportation field in Panel Discussions and Focus Groups.
This is a two day event and you can register for either day, or both. Your registration fee includes a continental breakfast and lunch each day, and an evening reception on Day One; or you can choose the rate that does not include meals.
