OLDER DRIVER CITATION AND CRASH DATA ANALYSIS

An analysis of Massachusetts citation data for 2001-2003 was conducted to understand the differences in both crash and non-crash behavior between older drivers and other drivers.  Specifically, the differences between males and females, and drivers age 64-84 and age 85+ were considered.  Violations were categorized into movement related violations, risky driving violations and broad scope violations.  Results indicated that there were significant differences across age and sex in all categories.
