Tips on Writing a Thank You to a Scholarship Donor

The College of Engineering will be selecting undergraduate students to receive Engineering Scholarship awards for the Fall 2008-Spring 2009 academic year. The awards come from a variety of sources within the College and vary in amount and number (based on available resources). The application will be used to consider you for any Engineering scholarships you are eligible for. The selections are made by a Faculty Scholarship Committee. Students who are currently freshman (but will be sophomores Fall '08) are eligible to apply, as are current sophomores and juniors.

These scholarships are used to help meet the financial needs of deserving engineering students. Different awards vary in their eligibility criteria. In general, academic performance (2.5 GPA or higher), financial need, and activities are the primary criteria for full-time students majoring in engineering. A complete listing of Engineering Scholarships is provided below.

If you would like to apply for a scholarship, please print out and complete the application form, attach an up-to-date, unofficial transcript showing most recent grades, and complete an essay. Turn all three pieces in together. Incomplete applications are usually not considered.

The deadline to return completed applications is February 09, 2008. (This is a good January break project!) You will be notified in May if you have received an award. Please note: the scholarship application process will only be done once a year. Therefore, it is very important that you complete your application by February 9th to be eligible for any scholarships for fall (2009) and spring semester (2010).
