NSBE MISSION STATEMENT
NSBE's mission is to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.
We are commited to stimulating and developing student interest in the various engineering
disciplines. The organisation works to develop student interest in math, applied science, physical science
and engineering and strives to increase the number of students studying in these fields both at the undergraduate
and graduate levels. The chapter also contributes to the community by lending technical expertise, financial resourses,
personal effort, and attention. We try to maintain and improve the lines of communication between the student, the school and
the community, while enhancing the cultural awareness and activities among members and the university community. UMASS NSBE
is focused on developing an environment where students can come together to learn, grow and succeed.
We are here to motivate students and enhance their perfomance in order for us to achieve success in this competitive society
and to affect a positive change on the quality of life for all people.
