The main
purpose of hosting this library on the Web is to provide a learning resource
for engineering students here at the University of Massachusetts and at
other universities. In
MIE
605 graduate students are required to complete a term project that
involves the application of the finite element method to a reasonably
complex engineering problem which is selected by the student and approved
by the instructor. Often these projects are related to the graduate student's
research area. The project requires the use of a commercial finite element
code, such as ANSYS,
ABAQUS,
IDEAS
Master Series and Pro
Mechanica.
