MIE 414 Computer-Aided Mechanical Design

Course Syllabus

Objectives:

To understand and appreciate the basic principles, common techniques, and design philosophies (best design practices) used in computer-aided mechanical design.
To learn how to use Pro/ENGINEER and associated application modules.
To employ the best design practices to complete a design project using Pro/ENGINEER.

Prerequisites

Senior or Graduate Student in Mechanical engineering, or by special permission of the instructor
Completed the following courses or equivalents:
- ME 213
- ME 313
- ME 375
- Pro/ENGINEER self taught
- Design project using Pro/ENGINEER
Lecture Topics

The course will cover a variety of topics on the use of the computer in design to help you understand the principles behind Pro/ENGINEER. Lectures also will be used for discussing Pro/ENGINEER
