Digital Versatile Disc (DVD) player uses high precision optical pick-up (OPU) servo system to read the data stored on the optical discs. This new technology, with storage capacity starting at 4.7GB, has the capacity to transform the pc industry. A crucial aspect of a DVD performance is related to its rotational speed. The lab is developing with Amherst Applied Controls, Inc., and Samsung new servo loops for high speed technology.
