FENESTRATION PERFORMANCE RESEARCH

Fenestration Performance Research work is jointly sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (Windows and Glazing Research Program) and the University of Massachusetts under Cooperative Agreement No. DE-FG03-94SF1812.

Research is focused on advanced heat and mass transfer for fenestration products (windows, skylights and doors) and is closely coordinated with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) and other research organizations. This research is applied to test methods and simplified computer simulation algorithms used to test, rate and design fenestration products by industry and standards and rating organizations. These organizations include: the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC), the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM), the International Standards Organization (ISO), and others.
