TRAVEL

Travel information from Boston, New York and Bradley Airport is given on the hotel brochure. You have several choices of airports to get to Amherst.
Loran (Boston)-Direct international flights from Europe are available to Boston. From there you can rent a car to drive to Amherst (approximately 2 hours). After leaving the airport take one of the tunnels into Boston that leads you to the Massachusetts Turnpike (a toll road designated as Interstate 90 or I-90). Go West on I-90 to Springfield, take Exit 4 to I-91 north to Exit 19, go right on Mass Route 9 East and follow the signs to the University of Massachusetts Campus, then follow the signs to the Campus Center Parking Garage.
[You can also take a bus (Peter Pan Bus Lines) from Logan Airport to the University of Massachusetts Campus. It takes about 3 to 4 hours and involves at least one change of buses at the Springfield Bus Terminal.]
Kennedy Airport (New York)-Direct international flights from Europe are available to New York. From there you can rent a car to drive to Amherst (approximately 3 and 1/2 hours). After crossing Long Island on the busy Van Wick Expressway, cross the Whitestone Bridge (toll) to I-95 north to New Haven, Connecticut, take I-91 north (through Connecticut) to Exit 19, go right on Mass Route 9 East and follow the signs to the University of Massachusetts Campus, then follow the signs to the Campus Center Parking Garage.
[You can also take a bus from Kennedy Airport to the University of Massachusetts Campus. I have never done this and would not recommend it. Kennedy is not an easy airport to get into and out of by bus. I usually either fly out of Logan Airport in Boston or Bradley Airport to Kennedy Airport when I fly to Europe.1
Bradlev Airport (Hartford/Sprinefield)-This is the closest airport to Amherst. It does not have international flights so you have to fly into either Boston or New York, clear customs, and the take a short flight (approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour) to Bradley Airport. From there you can rent a car for an easy drive to Amherst (approximately 1 hour). Take the Bradley connector highway to I-91 North to Exit 19, go right on Mass Route 9 East and follow the signs to the University of Massachusetts Campus, and then follow the signs to the Campus Center Parking Garage.
[You can also take a bus (Peter Pan Bus Lines) from Bradley Airport to the University of Massachusetts Campus. It takes about 1 and 1/2 hours and involves one change of buses at the Springfield Bus Terminal.]
