1.45 hours west of Boston and 45 minutes north of Hartford,

from a quaint downtown with clubs and restaurants, museums
and shops, and theaters and spas to natural spender
with rivers and mountains, and biking and hiking. The
Northampton area is home to five world-class universities
including the University of Massachusetts Amhers, Amherst
College, Mount Holyoke College, Hampshire College and
Smith College.

There are a number of possible activities available
for you and your guests while visiting Northampton and
Western Massachuseets. Here is an abridged list of destinations
within Northampton or a short drive away.
There are 10
museums within 15 minutes of Northampton including
a modest-sized, but impressive collection at the Smith
Museum of Art located in town. A 45 minute drive
west will bring you to Stockbridge and the Norman
Rockwell Museum. About 20 minutes south is a collection
of five Springfield
Museums. About 15 minutes north in S. Deerfield
is a Butterfly
Conservatory which is a wonderful destination for
kids. Older kids and adventurous adults will enjoy the
Six
Flags New England Amusement park located 20 minutes
south in Agawam. For sports fans, the Basketball
Hall of Fame is located in Springfield. There is
quite a bit of shopping in Northampton, but for great
deals a 45 minute drive brings you to the Outlet
Mall in Lee or a 15 minute drive brings you to the
Yankee
Candle Village.
