Northampton is a 1.45 hours drive west of Boston, MA (see directions) and a 45 minute drive north of Hartford, CT (see directions). Both are international airports. If you do not want to rent a car, a number of shuttle services run hourly from Hartford to Northampton including Valley Transporter and Seemo Shuttles for about $40 each way. If you are really adventurous you can take the Peter Pan bus from Boston to Northampton for about $30 and 2.5 hours each way.

The weather in June is typically warm (75F or 24C) and usually sunny. Although the fall foliage will be months away, spring in New England is lovely time of year.
