Corrado Poli, Ph.D., Professor

Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering

University of Massachusetts Amherst

Corrado Poli is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and The Ohio State University. Prior to coming to UMass he spent nine years at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio as both a research engineer and a faculty member at the Air Force Institute of Technology. Since the early '80s he has been primarily involved in the teaching of and research in manufacturing engineering. He has been heavily involved in NSF-funded research projects dealing with design for manufacturing and most recently visualization. His research publications include some 90 papers, four textbooks, and two handbooks. During the last few years he has been almost exclusively involved in the development of multimedia tutors for use in teaching undergraduate courses in mechanical engineering. He has also lectured at the Politecnico di Milano in Italy as a Visiting Professor.
