Laurence Murch

  • Ph.D., University of Massachusetts, 1972

Research Interests:

Professor Murch has worked in the general area of manufacturing with specific interests in assembly automation problems like those associated with the feeding and orienting of small parts, automatic assembly, and the design of parts and products for assembly. He is co-author of "Automatic Assembly" and "Handbook of Feeding and Orienting Techniques for Small Parts." He is also involved with computer numerical control systems (CNC) as well as other automation issues concerning CAD/CAM and the general problem of design for manufacturability.
