Research Interests:

My research focus is currently in the area of production system performance modeling, production system design and buffer allocation, discrete event dynamic systems, and in general the application and development of operations research models for decision support. Current research projects include the development of performance analysis methodology for mixed model, parallel line automotive body assembly systems; st ructural results in discrete event closed production systems, and methods and tools to aid in production system design. These projects utilize both simulation and analytical approaches as well as results form discrete event dynamic systems. I strive to have most of my projects addressing issues that are of direct interest to industry and for which there are no good solution techniques or methodologies available (there are many such issues). Many of the projects will result in sof tware tools. In the future I would like to establish support for a laboratory so that graduate students can conduct their production systems research using the latest equipment and software.
