Assistant Professor
Education:
- B.Tech., Aerospace Engineering, Indian
Institute of Technology - Madras, 1998
- M.S., Aeronautics, California Institute
of Technology, 1999
- Ph.D., Aeronautics, (Minors: Control &
Dynamical Systems, and Applied & Computational Mathematics),
California Institute of Technology, 2004
Research Interests:
The primary research focus of Professor Bobba's group lie at the interface of complex fluid flow phenomena and robust automatic control systems. We do fundamental studies investigating the multi-scale mechanics, dynamics and statistics of turbulent flow phenomena on one hand; and design, analysis and testing of novel distributed control systems on the other hand, that can function in the presence of wide amount of structured uncertainty arising from various sources. The theory, experimental and computational techniques that we develop are primarily motivated by various technological and natural applications in energy systems, environmental flows and cellular medicine.
