The Multicultural Engineering Program (MEP), located in the College of Engineering at the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Amherst, has been in existence since 1973 to recruit, retain and successfully graduate traditionally underrepresented minority students (African-American, Native American, Hispanic, and Cape Verdean descendent with U.S. citizenship or permanent U.S. residence) in the field of engineering.

To date, UMass MEP has graduated over 200 engineers. Today's MEP student has a multitude of opportunities in which to partake to achieve a successful college experience and, hopefully, attainment of a viable professional career in engineering.
