 How to Participate

Each student interested in inclusion in the PhD or MS Grad Competition, must submit an abstract by January 11, 2008 and a full conference paper by April 7, 2008.  Please include in your cover email that the abstract submission is for consideration in the PhD or MS Grad Poster Competition.  Proof of student level must also be included (a letter from your advisor on school letterhead is sufficient).

Each student interested in inclusion in the Undergrad Competition must submit a maximum 2 page abstract by February 18, 2008.  Please include in your cover letter / email subject line that the submission is for consideration in the Undergrad Poster Competition.  Proof of student level must also be included (a letter from your advisor on school letterhead is sufficient).

Abstract Submission Guidelines:

·         Submit electronically (MS WORD) to membrane@ecs.umass.edu by January 11th, 2008 (February 18, 2008 for Undergraduates).

·         Indicate in your cover email that the abstract is for consideration in the PhD, MS, or Undergrad student competition, preferred theme area and contact information.

·         Two page maximum. Single space with two spaces between paragraphs, 12 point Times font.  Make sure any figures/tables included are legible. 

·         Include title, authors with affiliation (Dept., Institution), corresponding author and contact information.

·         List preferred theme area from one of the following:

1.      Advances in membrane materials and modeling

2.      Wastewater treatment and reuse

3.      Drinking water treatment

4.      Gas transfer applications

5.      Desalination

6.       Fouling mechanisms and control
