Heather Rothenberg  -  hrothenb@student.umass.edu

Heather is a PhD student in the Transportation Engineering program.  Her areas of research interest are safety and transportation policy.  She is a self-proclaimed data geek; in particular, she loves data linkage, the use of GIS in traffic safety, and translating data into practical information to be used by safety professionals. Heather's background in public policy and community-level programming makes her a unique addition to the program.  Heather has been involved with ITE for almost seven years and in the past has served as the UMass Student Chapter's Public Outreach Liaison, Vice President, and President.  When not working, Heather enjoys organizing the ITE intramural volleyball team and battling opponents at the air hockey table at ITE social events.

 

Melissa Paciulli - paciulli@ecs.umass.edu

 

Melissa is a Masters student, with a focused interest in transportation infrastructure and its impact on economic development. In her current position as Program Manager for the Massachusetts Cooperative Research Program located in the University's Transportation Center, she provides project management for transportation related research projects in many different focus areas. Her areas of interest and expertise include transportation technology, policy, planning, and economics.
