Mr. Rick Pierro is President and co-founder of Superior Controls, one of New England's largest independent engineering firms providing automation and information systems to the BioPharma and Chemical Industry.

Mr. Pierro received a Bachelors in Chemistry from Boston University in 1981, an MS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Lowell-Mass in 1983 and has 23 years of automation experience. For the past 13 years at Superior Controls, he has helped design and implement hundreds of automation/information systems using PLC, DCS, and PC based solutions specifically for the BioPharma Industries.

Mr. Pierro is currently on the Board of Directors of Acumentrics Corporation, a leading fuel cell manufacturer, and E-Trolz, Inc., a manufacturer of intelligent controllers for the medical device industry. He is also Chairman of the Board of Advisors to the University of Mass - Lowell Engineering Departmentas well as a past recipient of the Francis College of Engineering "Distinguished Engineer Award" and Vice President of the Boston - International Society of Pharmacuetical Engineers. He is a frequent guest speaker on automation and future trends in automation and is an active member of ISA, ISPE and AFE.
