Women in Engineering Career Day

Every year, the Women in Engineering Program and the Society of Women in Engineers at the University of Massachusetts Amherst sponsors Women in Engineering Career Day Conference. This year’s Career Day will take place on Thursday, October 29th 2009 at the Lincoln Campus Center Auditorium from 8:30am to 1:30pm. This event is geared towards female high school students (grades 9-12) to introduce them to the field of engineering.

This year’s Career Day is particularly exciting as we are honored to have UMASS Amherst alum Consulting Engineer/Environmental Specialist with Tighe and Bond, Gemma Baro-Montes, who received her MS in Environmental Engineering in 2007. Gemma will be discussing the value of Engineers without Borders and her work as an Environmental Engineer. In addition to this presentation, Ms. Thea Sahr, Associate Director of Educational Outreach WGBH and Natalie Hebshie, WGBH Educational Outreach, will facilitate students in building fully operational engineering projects.

Directions to the Lincoln Campus Center Parking Garage and a map can be found by visiting the following website: http://www.umass.edu/visitorsctr/Campus_Map/
