Civil & Environmental Alum Appointed ASCE Region 1 Governor. Shawn P. Kelley, Ph.D., an associate with GeoDesign Inc., has been named a Governor of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Region 1. Founded in 1852, ASCE represents more than 146,000 members of the civil engineering profession worldwide and is America's oldest national engineering society. To learn more, click here.


Engineers Without Borders Holds 5K Benefit Race. The 5K road race which started at the Visitors Center and looped around the campus kicked off EWB’s fundraising efforts for the 2009-2010 school year. To learn more about the race, click here.


UMass ITE Student Chapter Wins Big at the Northeastern Annual Meeting. ITE received several awards at the meeting, which was held May 13-15 in Saratoga Springs, NY.To learn more about the chapter, click here.


Senior Robert House recognized as "21st Century Leader." Robert House, a Civil Engineering Undergraduate, has received the 21st Century Leader Award. The award is given to UMass students who have contributed to the university through exceptional achievement. Thirteen seniors across the campus will receive the award at Commencement on May 23rd.
