The S-Stem Program is not accepting new applications at this time.
The S-STEM program, funded through the National Science Foundation (NSF), is intended to address the critical shortage of a technically trained workforce that is essential to the well being of our country and economy. This comprehensive program provides financial and academic support for talented and deserving students, especially those from under-represented groups.

Eligibility
All students considered for the S-STEM program will first meet the criteria for admission to the University and be officially admitted. The 22 students selected to participate in this program will meet the criteria established in the S-STEM program guidelines. That is:
Be a U.S. citizen, national, alien admitted as a refugee or alien admitted for permanent residence in the U.S.;
Be enrolled full-time in one of the following majors: chemical engineering civil engineering, computer systems engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, or mechanical engineering;
Demonstrate financial need, defined for undergraduate students by the US Dept. of Education rules for Federal financial aid and implemented by the University's Office of Financial Aid;
Demonstrate academic potential or ability.
Students must have financial need of at least $6,000 or more to be eligible for the S-STEM Scholarship Program. To remain eligible for program participation, S-STEM scholars must demonstrate their financial and academic eligibility in each semester of support. The S-STEM Program Director will verify with the University Office of Financial Aid that each applicant and/or awardee qualifies for financial aid in each semester of support. To remain academically eligible, a student must remain in good academic standing and demonstrate progress toward the B.S. degree in an engineering discipline.
