Life After UMass

Powers will discuss his UMass experience and relate how students can make the most of their education and life at UMass. He will then describe the path he took since he began working at Raytheon. Powers will conclude with brief overview of the United States' Missile Defense System and highlights of various systems.

Richard Powers graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a B.S. in Computer Systems Engineering in 2002. Powers then earned an M.S.E.E. from the University of Washington at Seattle with a focus in Communications and Signal Processing in 2004. Since then he has been employed by Raytheon Company on the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Radar as a Systems Engineer. Powers most recently served as the THAAD Radar Scheduler Lead and now works on various system level efforts.
