The Geotechnical Engineering Group at UMass Amherst is internationally recognized for excellence in teaching and research in Geotechnical Engineering. The faculty group is comprised of individuals with research expertise in area such as numerical modeling, analytical analysis, laboratory testing, in-situ characterization, and full-scale field testing. Together these diverse capabilities provide unique opportunities for collaborative research and a well rounded graduate curriculum. The program has outstanding facilities for laboratory experimental research, field experimental research, spatial analysis, and numerical modeling.
