I study the hydrodynamics and water quality of the Wachusett Reservoir, a major drinking water supply for metropolitan Boston. My research interests include understanding the fate and transport of contaminants in the natural environment as well as climate change impacts on water quality. In connection with this research, I am participating in the following externally-funded project:
MS Research
I used CE-QUAL-W2 to model hypothetical spill scenarios into the Wachusett Reservoir to determine behavior and arrival times of contaminants at the Cosgrove drinking water intake. Model results provided useful information to reservoir management regarding how to respond to potential contaminant spills.
