Overview: This course provides an introduction to fundamental concepts in computer networks, including their design and implementation. Topics covered include the Web and other applications, transport protocols (providing reliability and congestion control), routing, and link access. Special attention is also paid to wireless networks and security. Homework assignments involve programming and written tasks.


Prerequisites: E&C-ENG 122 (or CMPSCI 121) & E&C-ENG 242 (or CMPSCI 187)

All assignments (written homeworks, Wireshark labs) are posted on the schedule page.

All assignments have a due date (generally a day when we have class) at 11PM, and have to be submitted in moodle.
Policy on late homework submissions:
up to 24 hours late: 10% deduction
up to 48 hours late: 30% deduction
> 48 hours late 100% deduction
