The research focus of the Network Systems Lab is on the design and application of network systems in general. In particular, we have been working on network processors and their applications in networking. Current projects range from run-time management of network processors to developing high-performance network measurement systems. Recent efforts have branched out into the embedded systems domain.

In today's network systems design, many engineering choices are encountered. One important aspect of research at NSL is the emphasis on quantitative results through realistic models, proof-of-concept implementations, or measurement.

Research at NSL is funded by the National Science Foundation and Intel Research.
