Course Description

In the last decade, there has been a revolution in the way electronic systems are designed, prototyped, and manufactured. The objective of this course is to show how hardware and software are designed and tested together in a variety of embedded computing systems. These range from a Microchip PIC microcontroller to specialized processors for DSP and Media Processing. Students are required to design, implement, and debug a number of projects using these computer systems. This course makes use of a wide range of hardware and software design tools and students are expected to learn the use of these tools in order to complete the labs.
