Women in Engineering Freshmen Seminar: developed, taught and received funding for this new freshmen seminar. This course is designed to assist freshmen women students in engineering in making a smooth and informed transition into the university. The primary goal of the course is to enable each student to adjust successfully to a new higher education environment while exploring and planning career opportunities in the broad field of engineering. Remote Instructional Laboratory: as part of my educational efforts, we have developed an Internet-based Computer Networks Laboratory (R-Lab) that enables a collaborative e-learning environment Web based educational tools: developed a web based course management system, IMPACT. This tool has been extensively used in undergraduate and graduate courses in UMASS as well as in schools in the local school districts. Institutions and professors have been using this tool successfully. A PDA-based version of IMPACT has been developed for mobile platforms. Multimedia Instructional Unit- developed a web based interactive multimedia instructional unit on Multimedia Networking. This a self contained instructional unit designed for senior undergraduate and graduate students that includes over 15 hours of instruction (the material includes both video and slides). Introduction to Networks Unit: developed an instructional unit for a freshmen course in Electrical and Computer Engineering. |
