Service at the University of Massachusetts

 

bullet Worked with the Women in Engineering program. Developed a Freshmen Women in Engineering Seminar for which I have obtained funding from Microsoft and Intel.
bullet Technology transfer: Co-founded of UMASS Spinoff (Enrichnet). This spin-off received first round of financing of approximately $4,000,000 in March 2000 from Hick Muse Tate & Furst (multi-billion dollar VC firms with an array of communication companies), and Dr. Andrew Viterbi.
bullet Working with k-12 educators to transfer the web based educational tools to regional schools (collaboration with Linda Honan from School of Education). Currently there is interest from a number of local and regional schools. School of education will offer 10 credits for teachers attending and evaluating these web based tools.
bullet Designed a new course to be offered Fall 2000 (Introduction to Internet Technology) that offers a teaching component to local schools.
