50% of the grade for the course is based on your performance on the 5 labs. The laboratory presents the most realistic engineering environment that you have probably encountered so far in your education. Labs require you to apply what you learn in the lectures as well as dealing with lots of common-sense problem solving. One of the major challenges of labs is group communication and group work.
Labs are to be done in groups of 2 or 3 students. A single lab report is to be handed in by each group. Lab reports are to be written up in a specific format which indicates who did what. You will each get individual grades on each lab, which will be based on your own work as well as the work of the overall group.
The lab is equipped with equipment from Tektronix, Hewlett Packard, Altera, Microchip, Motorola, Texas Instruments, and PADs software.
