UMASS ECE 551: Computer Systems Manufacturing Lab

Welcome to the 551 Home Page!

The objective of this course is to learn how to design embedded Computer Systems while considering manufacturing and testing issues. Novel aspects of the course include: 1) a video-taped lecture series featuring 5 guest lecturers from industry, 2) new hardware and design software from Altera and Microchip . and 3) final design projects, The course is under development with funding from the Engineering Academy of Southern New England and the University of Massachusetts. A similar course is being co-developed at the University of Rhode Island.

The lectures for this course are also offered as a 10 hour short course through the UMASS Video Instructional Program . Contact them to rent or purchase tapes and teaching materials.
