Welcome to Nanoscale Computing Systems (NCS) Laboratory / Software Systems and Architectures (SSA) Laboratory of Dept. Electrical & Computer Engineering at University of Massachusetts, Amherst. The group is led by Prof. Csaba Andras Moritz.

Our group is currently focusing on Nanoscale Application Specific ICs and Architectures (NASICs), designing circuits and architectures based on carbon nanotubes (CNT) and silicon nanowires (SiNW). Collaborating with several device physics groups, we have published several papers on this topic recently (see our publications for details).

Previously, we have been working on Cool-*, (read CoolStar), which is a, statically speculative, low-power microprocessor architecture. Our goal with Cool-* is to reduce power and energy consumption by a suite of combined architecture-compiler techniques.

For other ongoing projects and details on our research, please visit pages on current projects and recent publications.
