Replacing Tv commercials with something more meaningfull
Learn More Get StartedThe average T.V. viewer watches 5 hours of T.V. everyday, 75+ minutes of these are spent watching commercials. Seeing as most people pay to watch T.V, for the programming and not the commercials, we set out to resolve this issue.
Detect TV commercials* in real time at a 75% success rate
Detect transition from commercial break back to TV program at an 80% success rate
No interruption of TV programs
5 second detection delay (TV programming to commercial and vice versa)
Interface with android device via bluetooth and play/pause Spotify or Pandora
Product will work on 10 of the top channels
Wired interface with cable video source and any TV
From our detection subsystem we recieve inputs in the form of audio and video from the RCA connectors, the inputs enable us to approach our challenge.
By studying T.V. commercials we noticed a number of things we can look for.

Commercials occurs in intervals of 5 seconds.
There is concurrrent presence of silence and black frames in the transistions from Tv to commercial, commercial to commercial, and commercial to Tv.
From test we've seen accuracy between our theory(detecting transistions) and measurements both for Audio and black frames.
