Project Summary:

Reconnaissance plays a big role in the military today. There are many autonomous aerial vehicles such as UAV’s (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) but not many ground vehicles. The military is rapidly expanding its research and development into unmanned vehicles to minimize human lives. For our project, we wanted to create a device that would be used for soldiers on a field. Many times when soldiers are going into a room to sweep it for enemies, they do not know where enemy soldiers may hide. We want to create a device that will literally map out an entire view so anyone will know exactly what is in that room before entering it. A simple 2D blueprint of the room will be displayed onto a PDA device showing all obstacles in the room.
