Mid-course Design Review (MDR) Specification

The team has committed to meeting the following advisor-approved specifications by the December 2006 Mid-course Design Review.

1.     Road Calculations

These are theoretical calculations providing the criteria for:

    • Distance at which vehicle should be warned of it running the red light
    • Formulae for calculation of probability of car running red light
    • Statistical background for importance of Accident Warning System

2.     Transceiver Set-Up

·         Wireless connection between Bridge and Access Point established

·         Two-way communication between two laptops established

·         Data communicated is not GPS data. It is random data.

3.     Traffic Light

·         Hardware simulation of traffic light using Atmega 32 microprocessor

·         Display of changing light conditions on Bar LED

·         Changing light conditions recognized by the laptop connected to traffic light
