Welcome
Welcome to the Laser War Suit Design Project web site.
Background
Since it was invented in 1984, the Laser Tag gaming system
has been constantly changing and became more and more popular. However while
playing, players are still not able to identify the exact location they have
been tagged. Hence, the system never differentiates between a blow to the
most critical areas of the body and the less critical areas---for example,
being shot in the arm compared to the chest.
With our Laser Tag War Suit, the players will not only know that they are
shot, but also the location of the impact. When the suit detects an
electromagnetic wave (also known as an EM wave) from another player’s
gun, the corresponding section will light up and remains lit for
approximately 5 sec, enough time for the player to see that they he/she has
been tag. We will also integrate a vibrator in the suit in addition to the
light which will vibrate anytime the player got tag.
