LP Solvers

There is a number of commercial and academic LP solvers available for the purpose of this class and other research projects.

A commercial solver, LINGO, is available on ECS machine sisko at UMAss.
- Log in to sisko and type command lingo.
- You can list all the available commands using command help.
The following link shows how to use LINGO.
Use the following LP format for the Longest Path example discussed in ECE 665 Algorithms class.
Another option is an academic tool LP_SOLVE from University of New York and Stony Brook.
- To download LP_SOLVE, go to http://www.cs.sunysb.edu/~algorith/implement/lpsolve/implement.shtml and click on the download link.
- Download the version that is compatible to your system (read the README file).
- Run "lp_solve -h" to get help. Run "lp_solve < ex1.lp" to solve the first example included in the package.
