Dr. Dazhen Gu received the B.S. degree in Physics from Nanjing University, Nanjing, China, in 1999, and M.S. and Ph.D degrees in Electrical Engineering from University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2004 and 2007. From 1999 to 2001, he was a research assistant in the Superconductor Electronics Laboratory of Nanjing University, where he worked on the three-terminal device employing high-Tc fuperconductor, ferro-electric and ferro-magnetic materials. Since 2001, he has been involved in the design and fabrication of NbN hot electron bolometric mixer for terahertz receivers. Since November 2003, he has worked at the Electromagnetics Division, National Institute of Standards and Technology, Boulder, CO, where he is engaged in the development of terahertz imaging systems and characterization of low noise amplifiers. His research interest includes nano-fabrication, quantum electronics and RF circuit design.
