  • On December 1, 2005, the Center for Advanced Sensor and Communication Antennas (CASCA) and the Antennas and Propagation Laboratory (APLab) showcased recent antenna R&D at the Gunness Student Center, a high-level forum attended by more than 70 scientists from industry, academia, and the military. Researchers presented novel antenna hardware concepts and materials, with applications to advanced sensor and communication systems. Topics covered included: microstrip antennas for sensors and communications, digital beamforming, wide bandwidth antennas and arrays, computer modeling of large structures, active antennas for low-cost scanning arrays, metamaterials, and micromachining for millimeter wave atennna systems.
