Computer Architecture I (ECE568/668) - WinDLX Information

Installation:

• Create a directory on your Windows-PC for WinDLX, e.g., windlx.
• In Netscape open location: ftp://ftp.mkp.com/pub/dlx.
• Click on windlx_d.exe and download it to your windlx directory.
• Enter your windlx directory and double click on windlx_d.exe. This is a self extracting file which will generate the windlx.exe (the main executable program file) and a few other files.
• Read the tutorial in wdlxtut.doc (MS Word file).
• It the above ftp site is not operational you can download the files from /ece/koren/ece668/wdlx.
• An alternate URL for downloading WinDLX (but in the German language): http://www.vlsivie.tuwien.ac.at/CompArch/simulators.htm.
