IEEE SPRINGFIELD CHAPTER

Welcome to the IEEE Springfield Chapter's website

We are a joint chapter of five IEEE societies: the Antennas & Propagation Society (AP), the Electron Devices Society (ED), the Geoscience & Remote Sensing Society (GRS), the Lasers and Electro-Optics (LEO) Society, and the Microwave Theory & Techniques Society (MTT). The membership consists largely of students and faculty at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, in particular, those associated with the Microwave Electronics group (MEL) in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering.

The 1998 officers of the Springfield Chapter are:

Chair: Stephen Frasier (frasier@ecs.umass.edu)
Vice Chair: Steven Reising (reising@ecs.umass.edu)
Secretary: Andrew Pazmany (pazmany@mirsl.ecs.umass.edu)
Treasurer: James Carswell (carswell@mirsl.ecs.umass.edu)

Springfield Chapter technical meetings generally coincide with the Microwave Electronics Graduate Seminar series. These seminars are held periodically during the fall and spring semesters. The usual venue is Marston Hall Room 132 or the nearby Gunness Engineering Student Center conference room (see map). Seminars are typically held on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays at 4 PM. Future Seminars will be announced on this site.
