Course Syllabus

 

Catalog Description: Time-domain and frequency-domain analysis and synthesis techniques for linear continuous control systems.

 Objectives:  After taking this course, the student should be able to:

  1. Understand and be able to apply frequency-domain analysis tools to determine control system performance.

  2. Design a feedback control system to achieve specified objectives

  3. Analyze and design digital control systems.

  4. Understand and apply basic describing function principles to control systems containing a single static nonlinearity

 Topics:

  1. Design of continuous-time control systems in the frequency domain (Ch. 6, FPE)

  2. Digital feedback systems (Ch. 8, FPE)

  3. Nonlinear feedback systems (Ch. 9, FPE)
