COURSE OBJECTIVES

There are six main Course Objectives for students taking ECE 334:


1.
To learn the principles of plane wave propagation in unbounded space
2.
To understand wave polarization, and the polarization coupling from waves to antennas
3.
To understand EM wave reflection and transmission at a boundary between two media, and applications
4.
To learn about simple antenna elements and antenna arrays, their characterization and applications
5.
To characterize signal power in communication system links using the Friis tranmission formula
6.
To gain an understanding of the principles of operation of radar systems
   

PROGRAM OUTCOMES

These course objectives are related in part to ten broad capabilities (Program Outcomes) that we expect for all our BS graduates in the EE and CSE programs. These are related as shown in the table below.
