COURSE OBJECTIVES
There are six main
Course Objectives for students taking ECE 334:

1.

To learn the principles of plane wave propagation in unbounded space |
|
2.
|
To understand
wave polarization, and the polarization coupling from waves to
antennas |
|
3.
|
To understand EM wave reflection and transmission at a boundary
between two media, and applications |
|
4.
|
To learn about simple antenna elements and antenna arrays, their
characterization and applications |
|
5.
|
To characterize signal power in communication system links using the
Friis tranmission formula |
|
6.
|
To gain an understanding of the principles of operation of radar systems |

PROGRAM OUTCOMES
These course
objectives are related in part to ten broad capabilities (Program Outcomes)
that we expect for all our BS graduates in the EE and CSE programs. These
